Jones worked with Freddie King as a teenager and returned to King's band in the 1970s. His later credits include Katie Webster's The Swamp Boogie Queen and Charlie Musselwhite's Ace of Harps, Signature, and In My Time. He was a member of Musselwhite's 1995 W.C. His own recordings include I Need Time and Watch What You Say; Andrew and Kerrie also recorded Jr. Boy & Kerrie's Blues together.
